Top-Quality Edge Filter Prototypes and Products
Edge filters are designed to divide a spectral band of interest into two narrower bands: one transmitted and one reflected or absorbed. The transition between these bands, defining the 'edge' of the optical filter, is typically set at either the 5% (absolute) or 50% (relative) transmission wavelength.
Filters that transmit wavelengths shorter than the edge are known as shortpass (SP) optical filters, while those transmitting wavelengths longer than the edge are termed longpass (LP) optical filters. These filters can be used independently or in combination to create a broader spectral band (using two filters of the same type) or to establish a passband within a selected spectral range (combining shortpass and longpass filters).
We offer custom prototypes and volume production to meet your specific needs.
