Custom Gradient and Variable Optical Coatings
Notch Optics offers gradient/variable coatings that can be customized to vary the light intensity from 100% to < 0.1% across the substrate. These coatings are designed to attenuate light as the filter is translated or rotated, which is suitable for both broadband and single-band applications. Achieving large apertures is possible by translating or rotating two gradient/variable filters in opposite directions.
Available in various configurations, these coatings operate across the UV–IR spectrum. Filter options include Linear Apodizing, Circular Variable Neutral Density, Circular Variable Neutral Transmission, Linear Variable Neutral Density, and Linear Variable Neutral Transmission.
From custom prototypes to volume production, we cater to your specific optical coating needs.
