At Notch Optics, we manufacture top-quality, narrow-band spectral line filters for detecting ionized sulfur, oxygen, H-alpha, H-beta, and other elements. Our ultra-narrow passbands deliver the precision and accuracy required to transmit the desired spectral line while minimizing interference from unwanted wavelengths, enhancing image contrast.
Our filters feature extremely durable, sputtered hard coatings on single substrates of premium glass, eliminating the need for laminations. These coatings are resilient to humidity fluctuations and extreme temperature changes, maintaining spectral accuracy in center wavelength (CWL) and bandpass adherence. All primary filter coatings are applied to the front surface, with anti-reflection coatings on the rear surface to prevent ghosting and maximize transmission.

All filters are compatible with apertures of f/4 or smaller, with custom coatings available for applications requiring larger apertures, such as f/3 or f/2. We also offer larger sizes and unique passbands upon request.
