Spectral Testing

Dual-channel microplate spectrophotometer system.
Precision optical research equipment.

With the growing demand for top-tier coating performance in the optics industry, properly calibrated spectral testing is vital.

Notch Optics uses a mix of Near-IR and UV-visible spectrophotometers along with rail-mounted laser systems to ensure spectral compliance for customer requirements.

Our Near-IR and UV-visible spectrophotometer testing includes:

  • Perkin Elmer Lambda 1050 UV/VIS/NIR with TAMS (Total Absolute Measurement System) featuring a Si/InGaAs Sphere Detector and UV WinLab software

  • Perkin-Elmer Lambda 950 with a Universal Reflectance Attachment (URA) for absolute reflectance over user-defined angles of incidence and UV WinLab software

  • Perkin-Elmer Lambda 900 with PELA-1030 variable absolute reflectance attachment (10° – 70°) and UV WinLab software

  • General Purpose Optical Bench (GPOB) for custom testing of samples, components, and assemblies

These instruments and their interchangeable accessories enable cross-verification and comprehensive transmission or reflectance measurements from 200nm to 3200nm, with polarization capabilities.

Our Rail Mounted Laser testing features:

  • 632.8nm He-Ne random polarized laser

  • S, P, and 45° polarizers with a digitally controlled rotation wheel

  • Highly sensitive detector for measuring high extinction ratios

  • S & P measurement capability

  • Phase-Shift Difference measurement capability

  • Full 360° angle rotation stage

  • Alternative laser wavelengths available
