When a narrow-wavelength light strikes this interface, a portion of the light is reflected while the rest is transmitted. These coatings consistently exhibit high reflectivity for S-polarized light and high transmissivity for P-polarized light. Their primary application is in beamsplitters. Additionally, they are widely used in inspection systems to enable accurate measurements by capturing radiation from reference light.
